Welcome to FameForecast. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled responsibly and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how Hawkins Business Architecture Pty Ltd collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (collectively, "FameForecast"). By using FameForecast, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
FameForecast is a platform where users can spot clips with viral potential from streamers on platforms like YouTube and Twitch, build decks of FameCards, and engage with a community of fans. This policy applies to all users, whether registered or unregistered.
We collect information to provide and improve FameForecast services. The types of information we may collect include:
- Personal Information: When you register an account, we collect your username, email address, and a hashed version of your password. If you register via Google, we may collect your Google email and name.
- Clip Pick Data: Information related to your clip picks, such as the streamers/creators you pick, and leaderboard participation details.
- FameCard Images: When your pick generates a FameCard, an image file is created from your pick data and stored on our servers at your request as part of the service. This image belongs to you and we do not claim ownership of it.
- Usage Data: We collect data about how you interact with FameForecast, including pages visited, features used, search queries, and timestamps.
- Device Information: Details about your device, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and mobile device identifiers.
- Third-Party Data: When you search for streamers on YouTube or Twitch, we collect data from these platforms (e.g., streamer/channel names, follower/subscriber counts) via their APIs to display on FameForecast.
- Billing Information: If you make a purchase (e.g., for a Discovery Reel slot), we collect transaction details such as purchase date, amount, and product type. We do not store credit card numbers; payments are processed securely by third-party providers (PayPal/Stripe), who are the sole controllers of your payment method data.
- Partner & Host Data: If you join as a Host Creator or Partner, we collect additional business information necessary for service delivery and payouts, including tax identification numbers, payment details (e.g., PayPal address or bank details), and contract records.
We use your information to operate and enhance FameForecast, including:
- Providing Services: To create and manage your account, process clip picks, award points, and facilitate leaderboard participation.
- Personalization: To tailor your experience, such as recommending streamers or leaderboards based on your activity.
- Analytics: To analyze usage trends, improve our platform, and ensure functionality (e.g., tracking pick accuracy).
- Communication: To send you updates, notifications about your picks or account, and respond to inquiries via email (e.g., contact@fameforecast.com).
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal requests, including our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information as follows:
- Host Creators (Service Delivery): When you submit an application to be featured in a specific Discovery Reel, we share your submitted data (Handle, Clip URL, Bio) with that Host Creator. This is necessary for them to review your content, curate the segment, and perform the live reaction service. Host Creators are contractually prohibited from using this data for purposes other than the agreed service.
- Third-Party Platforms: When you search for streamers, we query APIs from YouTube and Twitch, sharing only necessary data (e.g., search queries) with these services to retrieve streamer information. These platforms have their own privacy policies.
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party providers who assist in operating FameForecast, under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process (e.g., court order), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hawkins Business Architecture Pty Ltd, our users, or others.
- Aggregated Data: We may share anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., clip pick trends) for analytics or marketing purposes, ensuring no individual identification.
We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
- Active Accounts: Personal information and associated data (including FameCard images) are retained for the duration your account remains active.
- Deleted Accounts: Upon account deletion, we will destroy or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial transaction records).
- Transaction Records: Billing and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years in accordance with Australian taxation and financial record-keeping obligations.
In accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 11, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information that is no longer needed for any purpose.
We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g., local storage) to enhance your experience:
- Essential Cookies: To maintain your session, remember your login status, and ensure FameForecast functions properly.
- Analytics Cookies: To track usage patterns and improve our platform (e.g., which streamers are most picked).
- Preference Cookies: To save your settings or preferences.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may limit FameForecast functionality.
FameForecast integrates with third-party platforms, including YouTube and Twitch, to provide streamer data. Specifically:
- YouTube API Services: We use YouTube API Services to retrieve data such as streamer/channel names, subscriber counts, and other public metrics when you search for YouTube creators or view related picks. This data is subject to the Google Privacy Policy, as YouTube is a Google service.
- Twitch API: We use the Twitch API to retrieve data such as streamer names, follower counts, and public metrics when you search for Twitch streamers. This data is subject to the Twitch Privacy Policy.
- Data Retrieval: When you search for streamers, we send your query to these platforms' APIs and receive public data. We do not access your personal accounts on these platforms unless you use Google OAuth for registration/login, in which case we collect your Google email and name as noted in "Information We Collect."
- Embedded Media Players: Our platform embeds video players from YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and Instagram. When you view these embeds, your browser connects directly to those third-party servers. These platforms may collect data about your viewing activity, IP address, and device information in accordance with their own privacy policies, just as if you were visiting their websites directly.
- Third-Party Policies: Data from these platforms is governed by their respective privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy for YouTube API Services and Twitch Privacy Policy for Twitch API. We use this data solely to enhance your FameForecast experience, such as displaying stats and enabling picks.
